After weeks of closed door meeting, the ruling coalition party in Ethiopia, Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) named Dr. Abiy Ahmed to be the 3rd Executive Chairman of the party. As an Executive Chairman of EPRDF, Dr. Abiy Ahmed will replace Hailemariam Desalegn to become the next Prime Minister. Dr. Abiy Ahmed has been a chairman of Oromo People's Democratic Organization (OPDO). He was born and raised in Agaro town located in South West Oromia. He received his Ph.D. in 2017 from Institute for Peace and Security Studies at Addis Ababa.
